Today, I am sharing the first page of my Life Strategy–my purpose, as I understand it, from God's perspective. Becoming the person God made me to be is most certainly a process, and I want you to know that I know I have plenty of room to grow in the area of fulfilling the who and why of my earthly existence. But by God's grace, this it is how I desire to live out each day of my life.
My Purpose: I believe God has created me for a purpose, and it is my desire to fulfill that purpose, as it unfolds, all the days that God gives me to live on this earth.
I am a servant of God, called to be obedient and submissive to God, allowing Him to make me more like Jesus every day. I am here to obey the Lord with all of my. . .
heart by loving Him more than any relationship, activity, achievement, or possession.
will by committing myself completely to Him and submitting my will to His will (Not my will, but Yours be done).
mind by seeking to know God and His Word, so Biblical principles and values form the foundation of all I think and do.
emotions by never allowing my feelings to rule over me, keeping them under control and submitted to God's truth as it is written in His Word.
attitudes by choosing to conduct myself in a manner worthy of Christ, even when I don't feel like it.
body by recognizing that my strengths, talents, and sexuality are given to me by God, to be used for pleasure and fulfillment according to His rules, not mine.
time by spending it wisely, because once it is spent it is gone forever.
finances by deciding that all of the resources we have ultimately come from God, and that we are to be managers (good stewards) of them and not owners.
future by deciding to make service to God and mankind the main purpose of my life's work.
I believe that God's Word is true, and therefore I choose to live my life for Him. I have not arrived—in fact, I am His workmanship, in progress. I choose to allow God to mold me and shape me in any way He sees fit, because He is the potter and I am the clay. The final product will be ready only when I come to the end of this life here on earth and Jesus takes me to be with Him in heaven for all of eternity.
I believe that Bob is the head of our home, and I, as his helper, am the heart of our home. It is my God-given duty to watch and pray so the destroyer cannot fulfill his plans for our family, the church, and our nation.
God has called me to Himself, first and foremost, as His child. He has also called me to be a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a home-maker, a business woman, and a member of our community and church body; I am also a niece, a sister, an aunt, and a friend. I believe God has called me to “be” the best me I can be, and that is who I want to be!
